Singing For
The Lord
River City Quartet
True Southern Gospel
River City Quartet
We began singing together
as a group almost 3 years
ago. The Lord has really
blessed us! The group was
started by Royce Nix, our
tenor singer, in November
2003.   We had our first
concert in February, 2004.
We started with the group
you see here.
Back Row: Dennis Lay, Lead;
Royce Nix, Tenor;  Jamie Smith,
Baritone;  Thomas Richardson,
Bass.
Front Row:  Danny Nix. Bass guitar;
Joe Easterwood, Keyboards

.
In September, 2005, Joe
had to leave for medical
reasons, and Jamie Sims
took over at the keyboards,
bringing with him his dad,

Our Goal
Our goal is to reach as many people as possible
with the message of Jesus Christ..... If just one lost soul is saved, it will have been
worth it all!

Junior, to play the lead guitar, and fill in on the bass guitar, if necessary  This group
you can see in the picture below.
In February of '06, Jamie Sims decided to leave to be with his family, and Paul Posey
joined the group to sing the
baritone part.  Paul has
been singing Southern
Gospel for many years,
and certainly knows how to
sing baritone!   He is one
of the smoothest baritone
singers around!  We began
singing with him in March
of '06.  You can see this
group in the third picture
here.
Jamie Sims had started a
mixed group called
Live-to-Serve, with Carrie
Columbia and his mother,
Kaye.  They sang with us
some, and had singings on
their own, as well.
However, in May of '06
Jamie left the group to
devote more time and
energy to this new ministry.
Junior Sims also left to help
with Jamie's  group. This
left us in need of a
keyboard player again.
Joe Easterwood  was
gracious enough to fill in on
the keyboard, and then we
persuaded him to stay on
permanently.  We are glad
to have him back!

In July '07, Joe Easterwood
and Paul Posey left the
group, leaving us with no
musicians, and in need of a
Baritone singer. Hillard
Boatwright agreed to help
out at baritone, and now he
is singing with us full time.
He is a good baritone
singer and a good harmony
man. We began singing
with soundtracks and,
although it has been a
learning process, we are
doing well with our new
'band'
